UzSU Global Alumni NetworkÂ
The Global Alumni Network of UzSU serves as a bridge connecting Uzbekistan’s graduates across the world. Its mission is to foster a strong sense of belonging among alumni, promote professional and personal growth, and encourage lifelong engagement with the Union’s values and community.
Through programs, networking opportunities, and international collaborations, the Network supports alumni in advancing their careers and expanding their global impact. It also works to strengthen ties between Uzbek graduates and their homeland by facilitating knowledge exchange, cultural initiatives, and community-driven projects.
By uniting talented professionals from diverse fields, the Global Alumni Network creates a platform for innovation, collaboration, and mutual support – empowering Uzbek alumni to contribute to the development of both their local communities and Uzbekistan’s future on the world stage.
Biography
Sabina Olimova is one of the four founders of Uzbekistan’s Students Union (UzSU) and served as on Operations Executive of the UK Branch before becoming the Director of the Global Alumni Network. Sabina holds MSc in Development Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and BSc in Economics from the University of Manchester (UoM).
The route to establishing the Union was formed through the creation of the first Central Asian Society in the UK for the UoM Student’s Union. Through cultivating the Uzbek/Central Asian culture on the university level at LSE and UoM – inspired for formalisation of the UzSU with other presidents of CAS at their respective universities. UzSU became a platform and a voice for the Uzbekistani students in the UK.
As Director of the Global Alumni Network at UzSU, Sabina leads initiatives that connect and empower Uzbek graduates around the world.
Sabina is dedicated to helping young leaders continue their journey beyond university – encouraging them to build meaningful careers, contribute to their communities, and celebrate their Uzbek identity wherever they are in the world.
