Supervisory Board and Chairperson
The Supervisory Board is the highest governing body of the Uzbekistan’s Students Union (UzSU), tasked with providing strategic direction and ensuring alignment with the Union’s mission and principles. The Board oversees the activities of the Executive Committee, ensuring accountability and effective governance. It also resolves internal conflicts, appoints the Executive Committee, and safeguards the integrity of the Union’s operations.
The Chairperson of the Supervisory Board is responsible for coordinating the Board’s activities, including setting the agenda for meetings, ensuring effective decision-making, and facilitating collaboration among Board members. As the principal point of contact for addressing internal disputes, the Chairperson plays a pivotal role in maintaining the Board’s integrity and effectiveness.
Biography
Jasurbek Jabborov is a recent graduate in Economics at Lancaster University and the founder of the Central Asian Youth Alliance. During his time as President of the Uzbekistan’s Students Union (UzSU), Jasurbek has dedicated himself to fostering a supportive environment for Uzbekistani students in the United Kingdom. Under his leadership, UzSU promotes cultural exchange, professional development, and academic collaboration, enriching the experiences of its members and strengthening their ties to their homeland.
Jasurbek’s extensive experience includes serving as an Advisor to the General Secretary of the Students’ Union at Westminster International University in Tashkent, where he contributed to strategic initiatives and student advocacy. He also represented student interests as a Course Representative and Chairman of the Student-Staff Liaison Committee at the University of Warwick, facilitating constructive dialogue between students and faculty.
In addition to his leadership roles, Jasurbek has gained valuable professional insights through internships at the Agency for Strategic Reforms under the President of Uzbekistan and the Permanent Mission of Uzbekistan to the UN Office and Other International Organizations in Geneva. These experiences have equipped him with a deep understanding of governance, strategic planning, and international cooperation.
